International Epidemiology 1
This class is offered in the first semester（前期）. It is intended for students with no background in the practice of Epidemiology and little or no knowledge of this field. Some concepts and methods commonly used in Epidemiology will be introduced.
Topics may include
Rates and frequencies
Signal detection and ROC analysis
Association and causation
Biases, errors, and confounding
Epidemiology of infectious diseases
Reading the literature of Epidemiology
International Epidemiology 2
This class is offered in the second semester（後期）. It is intended to be a continuation of International Epidemiology 1. Nonetheless, students who have not taken International Epidemiology 1 but have sufficient knowledge of Epidemiology may be allowed to take this class. This class will focus on the application of epidemiological approaches to problems in International Health. Some attention may also be given to important topics not covered in International Epidemiology 1. In addition, students may be expected to read and formally appraise recently published reports of epidemiological research.
